Representatives of the individual departments at the IOA can offer you advice. You can find out more about studying in your specialist research region, at our partner universities or scholarship opportunities by referring to the website of your own department under “Study abroad”.

The University of Bonn operates a direct exchange programme, which is partly funded by scholarships, with places at more than 45 partner universities in North and Central America, Asia, Australia and Europe. Some of these offer interesting courses for students of Asian and Islamic Art History.
Alongside study trips, internships, which may be funded for example by ERASMUS or the DAAD, provide a good opportunity to gain experience abroad. Besides the above-mentioned module “Studies and Practice”, you can additionally complete the inter-institute module “Intercultural Competence Internship” in Germany or abroad.
