PhD Programme

There are two alternative routes to pursue postgraduate studies at PhD level in the field of Oriental and Asian Studies at the University of Bonn.


 

Doctoral research projects commence with admission to the initial qualifying phase. Supervisors and PhD scholars are also required to sign a supervision agreement. If you intend to choose this route to your proposed doctoral research, please make direct contact first with your preferred supervisor at the IOA.

2. A structured PhD programme at the Bonn International Graduate School (BIGS-OAS):

Entry to this programme is by application. Applicants are also required to sign supervision agreements, as described above, in order to carry out postgraduate research at the BIGS-OAS.
