Guruvayanakere

Jaina temple complex

The temple complex at Guruvayanakere consists of three major temple buildings, two of them multi-storeyed, a free-standing pavilion, a brahma-stambha, snake stones (nāga-kals), an offering slab (bali-pīṭha), and a māna-stambha. The ancient temples at the site were entirely demolished by the Jaina community early in 2000 and subsequently completely rebuilt in modern materials.
