Badami
Jaina Cave Temple No. 4
Part of the main cave complex at Badami, overlooking the lake, is a Jaina cave. This was started in about the sixth century CE. Despite its relatively small size, this cave temple consists of a porch as well as a wide pillared hall, leading to a central shrine at the rear of the cave. All wall surfaces have been decorated with elaborate figural decorations, and the ceilings too bear rock-cut decorations.
